1969

Bonaventure East Golf Course Opens in 1969. Designer Joe Lee, Golf course designer working for a French company, dubs the 3rd hole waterfall Hole“Le Trous d’Eau”.

Designer Lee gets the idea for the waterfall hole as he is standing in line at a local bank and sees an endless sheet of water fall in the bank lobby.

   
1975 Johnny Miller shoots 63 and holds the course record at the east golf course
   

1982

Actress Linda Evans hosts all of Hollywood California at Bonaventure Country Club for a golf and gala party weekend. Stars on site include: Dean Martin, Michael Douglas, and Joe Dimaggio.
   

1991

Tiger Woods competes in the Dixie Amateur tournament at Bonaventure Country Club. Legend has it that he hit a 9 iron for his second shot into the 538 yard Par 5 tenth hole and
   
2002 Bonaventure Country Club is purchased by the current ownership group from a  real estate trust company which had fallen on hard times. The club house and golf course are in tough shape. A new energy is infused and the revitalization of the club is initiated.
   
2002 PGA Tour star Lucas Glover shoots 13 under par to win the “Tour De Las Americas” Qualifying School as Bonaventure Country Club begins a five year run hosting the International Event
   
2005 Bonaventure Country Club Resident LPGA Professional Marissa Baena captures the largest purse in the history of the LPGA Tour pocketing $500,000 for winning the HSBC World Match Play Championship
   
2007 Bonaventure Country Club completes a two million dollar restoration of the East Golf Course with all new Champions Turf Greens, Complete Sand-trap restoration, New Tees and Cart-paths.
