 Kevin Bracke
For
the past two years at
Bonaventure Country Club I have
been involved in developing a
children’s
clinic that has included over
one hundred young golfers from
Weston and surrounding
communities. I have also started
a successful ladies golf clinic.
While at “The Boni" I was given
an opportunity to write a
quarterly golf tips article in
Sport's and Activities Magazine.
I found that this was great way
for me to reach out to some new
golfers and give them a slightly
less technical version of
instruction.
Prior to starting my career in
golf I spent 11 years in Law
Enforcement with the Norwalk
Police Department in Norwalk,
Connecticut. During that time I
was a member of the SWAT team
and a Tactical Unit leader in
Narcotics. After leaving the
department my wife and I felt
that this would be a much less
stressful way to get back into
civilian life. However, we
didn't take into consideration
the fact that just because
people are no longer shooting at
me doesn't mean that I still
don't have to duck once in
awhile when out on the driving
range.
During my lessons I try to keep
the atmosphere light and
hopefully get my student to have
a little more fun with their
game. My main goal is to help my
student understand what they may
be doing in their golf swing and
give them the tools to help
correct it.

I having been attending a women’s
clinic at Bonaventure Country Club
lead by Kevin Bracke for the last 7
months. As a person who knew
absolutely nothing about the game of
golf, I must say that Kevin’s
enthusiasm for the sport has turned
me into an absolute fan! His passion
to teach has allowed me to feel
comfortable in pursing my new
interest. Even though our women’s
clinic includes 4 other

On several occasions, Kevin offered
individual lessons to my father. My
father, not one to take advice
easily, was thrilled with the amount
of knowledge he gained in such a
short amount of time. Kevin has a
great attitude and is very outgoing.
This made it easy for my father to
let his guard down. His patience
helped a lot too!
Kevin is very professional, has
great energy and would be an asset
to any country club.

As I mentioned I would like to
combine clinic with private classes,
I'm glad I finally took the step to
start taking classes, playing golf
it's definitely a great way to relax
while practicing such a fascinating
